Cap And Trade One of the most horrible and greedy idea's I ever heard is that of whats known as cap and trade. The Thought that the federal government is going to charge us and tax us based on how much global warming we cause in our daily life is beyond ridiculous.
Though I am not at all sold on the idea that there is man made global warming going on, even if we suspend our disbelief for a minute I am totaly sure that giving more money to Washington DC politicians and GE wont stop it.
The issue of stopping cap and trade will be high on my agenda if elected. Health Care Just imagine it, a world where the people who brought you social security also bring you your health care. Before we even get into the constitutionality of Federal owned and controled health care do you honestly believe the people who currently run Washington DC would actually bring you quality health care managing your health for you? Telling you what doctors you can see and how much health care you can receive. Deciding for you ,what kind of treatments you may and may not have. And to make matter's worse, to pay for it watch your taxes go through the roof.
How does this sound, instead of raising your taxes , you take that money and go buy insurance if you want it.
There are all kinds of government programs to assist low income people with getting insurance.
I dont feel its fair or right to raise my taxes to buy insurance for people who at this point choose not to.
I dont want unqualified politicians deciding my health for me.
The problem with health care in America is the cost. The real question is how to get the cost down.Not which government program will save us.
Things like caping malpractice claims and allowing companies to sell insurance across state lines. We should explore options like these. Giving control to the government should be the last choice, not the first.
Immigration The dream of moving to America and working hard to make a better life for yourself or family has been the dream of millions and millions of people throughout American history. All of us are the decendents of immigrnats or actually immigrants new to this country.
I am in total support of immigration to America. However when people come here illegally it ruins it for everyone who came here legally. And it ruins it for every citizen as there tax dollars go to aiding and assisting the lives of illegal aliens in America. It is not fair to tell one group of people they can just show up here illegally without going through the process and be allowed to work and stay while telling another group of people they must wait on lists and pay money for filling forms and medical exams.
Every country on this planet values it sovernty and protects its border's but somehow America would be wrong to protect its border?
I support the building of the fence on the Mexican border, over seen by the border patrol, but I am not sold on the idea of putting the military on the border. Not yet at least.
Do you really want one of our borders to look like the DMZ between North and South Korea? I dont if I can help it. I think its time to start enforcing our own laws and protect America and American's .
My wife is a proud and legal immigrant to our country from South Korea and my children are the sons of an immigrant. Protect America by protecting legal immigrants, securing the border and deporting illegal aliens. Industry If you listen to the politicians in Washington DC they will tell you the reason industry has left America is because greedy unpatriotic businessmen would rather show a profit then pay high taxes to Washington DC politcians .
Vice President Joe Biden once said its patriotic to pay high taxes. Perhapes he didnt study the American revolution in school.
If I understand the message coming from Washington, it's that business's are greedy because they dont want to give an exsorbant amount of there money to Washington DC.
Sounds like the pot is calling the kettle black there. The government , or anyone, calling someone greedy because they dont want to give there money to them is insulting to our intelligence. Its laughable.
Politicians are always looking for political solutions to economical problems.The answer to America's economical problems is NOT raise's taxes on business. Or anyone for that matter.
Let me ask the people of the 9th district an honest and straight forward question, " Whats more important to you, Washington DC putting high tax's on business or jobs returning to America?"
When i am on the street talking to people they never ever say to me that when they wake up in the morning to go take care of there families there biggest worry is the tax rate on business's, but rather where and how to find a better job. Jobs come from business not political plans.
People, it is possible for the factories and jobs to come back to America. Right now the federal corporate tax rate on American business is about 39%. Under George Bush it was about 35 % .The World average is about 27%. Knowing that let me ask you another question, " what would happen if the corporate tax rate was anywhere from 0-15%?"
I'll tell you what would happen, corporations and factories from around the world would be tripping over themselves running to America to set up shop. There would be so many new jobs available I cant count them here because the sky truely would be the limit.
But with taxes that low how would the federal government pay for all its programs?? Good question and the answer is a 2 part answer.
1. They would make up for it in volume. With tax rates that low there would be so many businesses and so many people working that just collecting 0-15% they would have more then enough money coming in.Assuming the currenct congress is replaced with fiscaly responsible people with no agenda beyond upholding the constitution.Remember, if the government makes it's tax money with volume that means lots of people are working.
2. The next part of the answer is get rid of all the vote getting federal programs.We all know about the excessive and WASTEFUL government spending.Most noteably at this time the "bailouts" and "stimulus packages".It is time to cut it out and get rid of the wasteful spending. I think we all can be in agreement that basically all the federal gov't should be working on at this time is national defense and finally fixing social security . As far as it seems now the plan for social security is the same as the national debt. Pass it on to our kids and grandkids to deal with. Deploreable.
Twice now you have seen me refer to a tax rate of 0-15% and you may of asked yourself how do we get a tax rate of 0 in the 0-15%. I will tell you. If there was a federal tax rate of 0% on peoples earnings and on business's, then the federal gov't could use a VAT or a sales tax for collecting tax revenue. Before you think that sounds crazy,the gov't only collecting a sales tax and not an income tax , let me tell you it was the system used in the begining of our countries history and the federal government survived just fine.
Just think, if there was no income tax there would be no tax dodger's because everyone would get to take home there entire pay and only pay taxes when they buy something.We wouldnt have to waste time and money chacing and prosecuting tax dodger's. People worried about the rich paying there fair share could relax to because the rich would pay plenty because they are the only ones buying mansions ,yacht's and sports car's.
Now is the time my fellow Americans to finally stop dreaming and actually take back our country. MILITARY It is in my opinion that the American Soldier is the greatest hero that we have and should be treated with the dignity , respect and the care that they deserve. The American soldiers are the people that will go and fight so that we can live and be free, and for this service , we are all forever indebted to them. I mean this literally , not symbolically. We owe them. When i see and hear about all the trillion's of dollars our federal government wastes and yet our retired vets have so little it does nothing short of anger me. I would fight to bring vets of war the health coverage and pension they deserve. Personally i feel anyone who goes to war for our nation should recieve a high quality health insurance policy from a private sector insurance company, paid for by the federal government. I feel the soldier should be able to go out and pick for themself a policy from a private company , a policy they feel good about and are comfortable with and the federal government should pick up the tab. I feel the monthly pension should be enough to pay for a place to live and food. Groups like Acorn can get federal aid but soldier's have to take a back seat? NOT on my watch. THE WELFARE STATE Here in America to many people are living off the tax payer's back. Million's of Americans work full time and beyond trying to take care of their families while other American's sleep in til noon waiting for a check to show up in the mail or at a government office.Thats just not fair. Its plain wrong.I do not have a cold heart , I feel we do need to help people who are truely in need of assistance. At state or local level's there should be some kind of program to help people in true need. The federal gov't should stay out of it.Sick and disabled people do need help but healthy bodied people should be expected to go to work or go without. Lower taxes will help the cause of putting millions of people on welfare back to work. As taxes go down and the jobs come back to America there will be more places of work for people who are now on welfare ,but could be working. If you want to help a hungry man give him a fishing pole not a fish. NRA I am a proud , non gun owning, member of the NRA. I support what they are trying to do. The NRA is a non partisan group dedicated to protecting the 2nd ammendment.
The most basic right in life is the right to defend yourself. Excessive gun regulations only make it harder on law biding citizens. Crimminals dont obey gun laws, they are crimminals.
Today in Washington DC the constitution is under attack. Politcians are now trying to portray people who want the constitution upheld as radicals and even possible domestic terrorists. That is something that must be stopped in its tracks. Loving the constitution does not make someone out of date or a domestic terrorists, infact it makes them a great American.
Our founding fathers laid out for us the greatest vision for a nation. Many politicians today seem to think they are smarter then our founder's. As the size of our federal government grows,the further from the original design we get. It was never intended for the federal government to be our ruler. Infact they we're suppose to have very little to do with our(the american people) daily life.
It seems everytime I turn around new federal mandates and laws for us seem to be handed down.
I am a big believer in local and state governments.As our founder's seen it, life desicions where supposed to be handled at a local level. This allowes people to be in more control of there lives. It is more in line with the idea of life liberty and pursuing happiness.
The constitution of the United States is the greatest gift our founding father's left for us, now it is our responsibilty to follow it and continue to pass it down the generations. Oppose anyone who would stand in the way of that. Police And Fire You might hear Libertarians go on and on about smaller government. People who appose the Libertarian message will often try to say that Libertarians are anarchists who want no government at all. This is simply not true.
I feel one of the back bones and keys to government is the police and fire departments.
I simply have nothing but support for these 2 fine departments.The challenges they face trying to save save us in our times of need is not to be taking lightly.
As far as i am concerned when the going gets tough these two government agencies must come first in our support.
It is believed that Thomas Jefferson once said "That government is best which governs the least."
Regardless of whoever this quote originated from it coulnd't be truer. However these 2 government agencies are crucial to our daily lives and most be supported first and formost because we can not do anything if the job they do is not done. Tea parties and taking Back America For far to long now when at the voting booth we have voted for the less of two evils. Choosing the candidate we dislike the least. Excepting , tho hateing, that you must vote republican or democrat. I have heard it countless time and the polls show it. People are not at all satisfied with democrat's and republicans but feel its the only real choice. That is the propaganda of the repubs and dems. They fear losing there power and money.Look at history in America, political parties come and go. It wasnt always only republican's and democrat's and it can once again be someone or something different.
Libertarians are on the rise and people are hungry for real change. More and more libertarian candidates are entering race's and winning office's around the country.The libertarian party IS a real choice now and its time to say goodbye to the trillion dollar failures of the democrat's and republican's.
Its time to bailout the people of America and voting in a party that is made up of people just like you and I.
Are we going to wait until the country is completely bottomed out and collapsed before we realize we have no choice but to vote away the current system and replace it with the one left for us by our founding father's?
We are trillions of dollars in debt and growing. Social Security is heading for banckruptcy and DC does nothing. We are indebted to communist China and the current lawmaker's think "just print more money" is a good idea. I had that same idea when i was 10 years old. It was a bad idea then and its a bad idea now.
If everyone out there who ever thought they would like to vote libertarian but felt it was a waste of vote, actually voted libertarian, Libertarians would be in office now and taxes would be going down and personal freedom would be going up.
Now is the time to act people, now is the time for you to take back your country. For yourself, for your family and for the generation's yet to be born. The tea parties that swept the nation prove that America is getting fed up. But getting fed up is only the first stage, you must then act. Then you must vote, and you should vote for Libertarian candidates!
